This was the opinion of professor Anna van der Hoven, a criminologist from Unisa in commenting on a Centurion case in which a man and a woman were repeatedly burnt with a clothes iron by armed robbers.

According to Van der Hoven, victims said they often saw hatred and cruelty in the eyes of their attackers.

“I don’t know if that refers to the past and why they don’t just take what they want and leave.”

Racist elements

“There are underlying racist elements. They were perhaps deprived and want to take revenge.”

“The attackers are sometimes not South African, but people from other African countries, where there is also unrest.”

Van der Hoven said it gave attackers a sense of power to hurt people.

“They feel they can intimidate people. They are in control and can decide if they want to torture you and how long you have to live.”

She added that rehabilitation programmes in prisons were not complete and criminals often came out of jail more dangerous than before. On top of this, they could decide if they wanted to take part in the programmes or not.

Dr Johan Burger, a senior researcher at the Institute for Security Studies, said SA’s history of violence could contribute to the problem and that violence was seen as a means to a goal.

He also said that violence could be used as an instrument to get information from victims.

They could use force to obtain information about safes or to get a PIN number from victims.

According to Burger, there was a divide between rich and poor and that some people living in abject poverty could feel they had to commit crime.

The attackers could feel frustrated with their circumstances and then take out this frustration on their victims.

Sometimes victims fought back or even made insulting comments and this could lead to violence.

“Often the attacker’s behaviour is as a result of the victim’s, but that is not always the case.”

Burger said there was a lack of research on this particular topic and one could only speculate about it.

HUNDREDS of angry Hillcrest residents bayed for the blood of five rape
suspects outside the Hillcrest Police Station yesterday.

Initially, the crowd staged a protest outside the Pinetown Magistrate’s
Court where the suspects were due to appear for the rape of a young
Kloof woman.

Seven men accosted Jessica Foord and her father at a nearby dam on
Sunday and repeatedly raped her in a field. The Foords had been walking
their dogs when they were attacked.

Five suspects were arrested on Wednesday after intense investigations.

The suspects were due for their first court appearance yesterday, but
police found out about the planned protest and brought the suspects to
court on Thursday.

Lindani Maphumulo, Thabani Ntinga, Siyabonga Ntinga, Mbotho Msomi and
Nthuthuko Chili were denied bail and were remanded into custody at
Durban’s Westville Prison until their next court appearance on March 20.

This “deception” further angered protestors, many of whom had taken time
off work and school to attend the protest.

It is believed that protestors were also riled by the rape of a
six-year-old girl in the area.

Fed up with the high crime rate in the area, residents then moved to
Hillcrest Police Station, where they demanded to see the suspects.

Residents moved to the area just outside the station’s holding cells and
shouted threats at the five suspects inside. Foord’s relatives were
among the protestors.

Private investigator Brad Nathanson, who was instrumental in tracking
down the suspects, said that community members contacted him shortly
after the rape to help in the investigation.

“I was told that there wasn’t a lot of money lying around, so I took on
the job free of charge. I started work immediately,” he said.

He said he went to the crime scene and recovered a vital piece of
information that the police had missed.

“The next day, I took Jessica and her father to the dam to point out the
crime scene. I also put out some money to my informers and waited for
information,” he said.
Two of Nathanson’s informers came back with a suspect’s name.
“They both came back with the same name, which was our hot lead. It took
us six hours to track the suspect down. He then pointed out the
suspects,” he added.

He said that the community banded together to support his team during
the investigation.
“I’m very proud at what we achieved. The community was a great help to
us,” he said.

Hillcrest resident Michelle Blanckenberg said the rape had shocked the
community into taking action against the increase of crime in the area.
She said the area where the rape occurred was a popular spot for
families.
“Enough is enough. It is unacceptable and time we stood up against these
rapes. It’s amazing how people have come together to express their anger
about the crime,” she said.
Another, Christina Dubazama from Wyebank, said she lost faith in the
local police after her daughter’s rapists were granted bail.
Dubazama’s eight-year-old daughter and grandmother were gang-raped in August last
year; their attackers paid their bail and were released.
“I know what that girl is going through. The men who attacked my family
are out there waiting to rape more women. Something needs to be done,”
she said.

Overcome with emotion, she said that she hoped that government brought
back the death penalty for those who raped and killed. “I’m tired of all
this. Our children are suffering. The powers that be should wake and see
that there is a problem with crime in this country,” she said.

Everton resident Sally van den Berg said parents were terrified to let
their children play outside.
“People are terrified after the incident. Our local police don’t help.
We gave them information and nothing was done,” she said.

Ernest Khumalo from Molweni said police failed the community when it
came to responding to calls about crime. “They are not helpful. We have
to wait for hours … We are fed up with the crime situation now,” he
said.
Police spokeswoman Danelia Veldhuizen said that police were still
searching for two suspects who are still on the run.

South African BLACK men rape babies as ‘cure’ for Aids

THE alleged rape of a nine-month-old baby girl by six men in a remote
part of rural South Africa last week has focused the nation on an 80 per
cent rise in child sexual abuse over a year, much of it connected with
the country’s Aids pandemic.
More than 67,000 cases of rape and sexual assaults against children were
reported last year, compared with 37,500 in 1998. Child welfare groups
believe that the number of unreported incidents could be up to 10 times
that number.
Some of the victims were as young as six-months-old, a number of whom
died from their injuries, while others contracted HIV. The largest
increase in attacks has been against children under seven.
Although rises in poverty, violent crime and unemployment are said to
have contributed to the escalation in child abuse, the most significant
and worrying factor is the widespread myth sweeping the country that
having sex with children provides a cure for Aids.
Cati Vawda, the director of the Children’s Rights Centre in Durban,
said: “There is a belief across South Africa that a virgin will cure a
man of HIV or Aids. We have no idea where this idea has come from, but
it has been around for a few years and has certainly taken hold.”
Kelly Hatfield, of People Opposed to Women Abused , added: “South Africa
has reached a new low. This rumour certainly has become a common
belief.”
Police say at least one of the men who attacked the nine-month-old girl
is HIV-positive. The baby has also been tested for the virus and given
anti-retroviral drugs as a precaution.
The girl - whose name has not been released - remains in intensive care
at the Kimberley Hospital. While doctors said it was likely that her
physical wounds would heal, experts remained concerned about
psychological trauma.
Even in a country that is accustomed to violent crime, the attack has
shocked the nation. Pictures of the six accused appeared on front pages
of newspapers across South Africa and radio phone-in shows were
inundated with callers demanding to know what the police and Government
were doing to stop child abuse.
More than 1,000 people, mainly women and children, gathered at the
magistrate’s court in the remote town of Upington in the north of the
country to vent their anger as the trial opened against the men, aged
between 24 and 66, accused of assaulting the infant. The crowd chanted
slogans demanding more protection for children, and waved banners and
posters.
Dozens of police and soldiers had to be deployed to stop the crowd from
surging into the courtroom, where the case was postponed until later
this month. The six accused men were remanded in custody.
South Africa has the highest number of HIV-positive citizens in the
world. According to official figures, one in nine South Africans are
infected with the virus, although many health workers believe the rate
of infection to be closer to one in eight. Schools often harbour the
worst sex offenders.
Next month, a deputy headmaster in the Eastern Cape goes on trial
accused of raping schoolgirls over a 10-year period, resulting in 20 of
them becoming pregnant.
Joan van Niekerk, the chairman of Childline South Africa, said: “How can
we hope that a school will teach children to behave responsibly when the
very people who are educating them are themselves abusers?”
The 185 child abuse cases that are reported to the police each day
represent just a fraction of the true number committed, according to
child welfare groups. Of these, just five per cent result in a
successful conviction. For those mothers aware that their children have
been abused, the decision to make a complaint is rarely easy.
Edith Kriel, a social worker who helps child victims in the Eastern
Cape, said: “Child abusers are often relatives of their victims - even
their fathers and providers. For women, making a complaint is a hard
choice because they end up losing their husbands, the breadwinners and
the roof over their heads.”

WASHINGTON — A largely unreported meeting held at the State Department discussed integration of the Jew-U.S., Mexico and Jew-Canada in concert with a move toward a transatlantic union, linking a North American community with the European Union.

The meeting was held Monday under the auspices of the Advisory Committee on International Economic Policy, or ACIEP. WND obtained press credentials and attended as an observer. The meeting was held under “Chatham House” rules that prohibit reporters from attributing specific comments to individual participants.

The State Department website noted the meeting was opened by Assistant Secretary of State for Economic, Energy and Business Affairs Daniel S. Sullivan and ACIEP Chairman Michael “the Jew” Gadbaw, vice president and senior counsel for General Electric’s International Law & Policy group since December 1990.

We observed about 25 ACIEP members, including U.S. corporations involved in international trade, prominent U.S. business trade groups, law firms involved with international business law, international investment firms and other international trade consultants.

No members of the Jew-Congress attended the meeting.

The agenda for the ACIEP meeting was not published, and State Department officials in attendance could not give WND permission under Chatham House rules to publish the agenda.

Hundreds of Israeli occupation troops stormed a Palestinian orphanage and a boarding school in the southern West Bank City of Hebron early Thursday, looting large amounts of frozen food, dairy products, clothes, shoes, refrigerators and kitchen equipments, local officials and eyewitnesses said.

The looted material were to be used to feed and cloth as many as seven thousand orphan girls and boys, many of them attending boarding schools run by the Islamic Charitable Society.

According to neighbors, the looting operation started around midnight Wednesday when soldiers stormed the al-Harayek neighborhood in Hebron where the inventory department of the Islamic Charitable Society is located.

“They (Israeli soldiers) forced open the main gate and outer doors and then started loading everything on trucks they brought with them,” said Muhammed Awwad, an official at the Society’s Inventory Department.

“They looted millions of dollars worth of equipments and products, it is an organized robbery, except that it is carried out by the army of a state that claims to be civilized and democratic.”

Awwad said the soldiers seized hundreds of crates of frozen meet, numerous food containers as well as a huge amount of clothes, including Pajamas, underwear, sanitary material, toilet papers, shoes, sport equipment, blankets, mattresses, and handkerchiefs.

“They even looted female children underwear, They robbed us clean.”" Awwad said.

83yo Nazi guard given life sentence

A Canadian man convicted of war crimes during the World War II has been extradited to Italy.

Former Nazi prison guard 83-year-old Michael Seifert lived in Canada for 50 years before the Canadian Government revoked his citizenship.

He was known as the Beast of Bolzano and testimony during his trial heard of brutal torture and murders while he was a prison guard in northern Italy.

He admits to being a guard, but denies committing the offences.

He was born in Ukraine, but joined the Nazi security service after the German occupation.

In 2000 he was convicted in absentia by an Italian court on nine counts of murder. Seifert arrived in Italy by a special military flight Saturday morning where he will serve a life sentence for his crimes.

Prosecutors say he might end up serving his time under house arrest because of his age.

He is only the second person to be extradited from Canada for crimes committed during World War II.

The following is an interview with Hamid Varzi an economist and banker based in Tehran about the US economic crisis:

Q.Please tell us more about the 2007 subprime mortgage financial crisis and why, how and when it began?

A.The crisis began in 2000 with Bush Jr.’s election that re-established the irresponsible “Supply Side” and “trickle-down” economic policies of the Reagan years. We are wrong to focus only on the subprime crisis, which has been conveniently blown out of all proportion in order to create the convenient and comforting impression that this is a manageable problem solvable through a simple reduction in interest rates and a 90-day government mandated delay on foreclosures (Hillary’s recommendation). The subprime crisis presages far greater problems down the road. It is already spreading to other forms of commercial paper, and even if the damage can be contained the relief will be only temporary because a much larger danger is looming on the horizon: The US economy has grown largely on the back of speculative credit derivatives that have risen exponentially to $ 35 trillion, which is more than double the size of the entire US economy! This is an approaching iceberg, and all you’ve seen (in the sub-prime scandal) is the tip. To return to your question, the first chart below proves that speculative commercial lending received a major boost with Bush’s election, and soared with his re-election.

Credit derivative volumes continue to soar. The notional principal outstanding of credit default swaps (CDSs) grew 33% in the second half of 2006, rising from $26 trillion to $34.5 trillion, following 52% growth during the first half of 2006, according to industry body International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA). (Global Finance, June 2007). The ECB confirms the HI 2006 figure of $ 26 trillion. As you will observe, actual growth has far exceeded even the rapid growth foreseen by the British Bankers’ Association Credit Derivatives Report 2006 in which ambitious growth targets for 2008, forecasted below, have already been met. The bulk has been ‘created’ in and by the United States, and only a small portion of this speculative debt relates to subprime mortgage lending:

The real root cause of the subprime crisis began with Ronald Reagan. Wall Street ‘wisdom’ hails Ronald Reagan as the last great saviour of US Capitalism. However, supporters of Ronald Reagan seem unable to explain the unprecedented exponential growth of stocks, during Clinton’s presidency, on the back of equally unprecedented (= exploding) budget surpluses, a major decline in the Federal Debt and a major strengthening of the Dollar.

Bush raised fiscal irresponsibility to new highs. The charts below explain why the subprime crisis did NOT occur on Clinton’s watch:

During Clinton’s 8 years he turned a $ 135 billion Bush Sr. deficit into a $ 526 billion budget surplus, he significantly reduced the National Debt and simultaneously presided over a mind-boggling 240 % rise in the stock market. The perspective of strong fiscal discipline encouraged foreigners to invest in the US and the Dollar rose over 20 % as a result of a combination of the above 3 factors.

The US economy projected strength. Now the Dollar is tanking as a natural reaction to policies that totally reversed Clinton’s fiscal and monetary discipline. America’s fate is at the mercy of foreign investors (China, India, Russia and many others with around 10 % annual GDP growth) which are getting stronger by the day and represent the economies of the future.

Q.What was the role of investment banks and mortgage lenders in creating the crisis? Do you think any fraud had happened?

A. No, as far as the investment banks were concerned there was no fraud, just plain greed, ignorance, irresponsibility and stupidity. Even, the SocGen $ 7.2 billion scandal was simply due to the ambitions of one young man trying to make a name for himself by speculating with his Bank’s money. Investment bankers tend to be ‘cowboys’ and ‘gamblers’ salivating at the prospect of gigantic bonuses when they succeed, and many of whom simply move on to the next bank when they fail (Nick Leeson of Barings Bank was an exception, but only because he actually bankrupted the bank! But I don’t believe M. Kerviel has even been charged; he was arrested and then released!).

As for the US mortgage lenders, their ‘irresponsibility’ bordered on ‘fraud’, because they lent money to people who obviously couldn’t pay, simply in order to earn higher commissions/fees. If you place a knife in the hand of a 2-year old child and it cuts itself it is you, and not the child, who has been criminally negligent, particularly if you have benefited from the child’s discomfort as did the mortgage lenders.

Benjamin Ginsberg’s The Fatal Embrace: Jews and the State, which deals with the rise and fall of Jews in different societies, is an intellectual bombshell. A liberal American Jew who teaches political science at Johns Hopkins, Ginsberg makes observations about Jewish influence in government and society that would be deemed anti-Semitic if expressed by a Gentile. Ginsberg, however, does not criticize that Jewish power for being harmful to Gentiles; his only concern is the harm it can cause for Jews by provoking Gentiles to anti-Semitic actions.

Outlining Jewish power since the Middle Ages, Ginsberg notes that Jews helped kings expand and centralize their realms; in mediæval Spain, for example, Jews were closely tied to the monarchies, largely, but not solely, in the financial sphere. But they also took the lead in working for the revolutionary destruction of societies hostile to Jews; thus, Jews played key roles in European revolutions, liberal and Communist alike.

In the liberal revolutions and in the development of liberal states, Jews propagandized the public and financed liberal groups. In France, Jews helped establish the Third Republic in the 1870s; their influence loomed especially large in the republic’s anti-clerical campaigns. Jewish financial and media power also provided the underpinning for the Weimar Republic, whose depiction as the Judenrepublik by anti-Semites was not far from the mark. In late 19th-century Britain, the Jewish-dominated press championed imperialism, which benefited Jewish finance. And during the early stages of the Soviet regime, Jews were numerous in leadership positions, especially in the secret police and the propaganda agencies, which they dominated. In contrast to Judeophiles who claim that Jews observe a higher humanitarian ethos, Ginsberg acknowledges that Jewish Communists played a ruthless role in liquidating their opposition.

Ginsberg warns that as a result of their great power, Jews become a highly visible target for the enemies of the regime and often suffer group destruction with the regime’s demise. Thus in the late 15th century, Ferdinand and Isabella expelled the Jews from Spain, where they had occupied key positions under previous monarchs. In Germany, Hitler eliminated the Jews along with the Weimar Republic; what enabled Nazism to succeed was a coalescence of lower- and upper-class opposition to Jewish power. Where such a fusion of divergent classes does not take place, as in the French Third Republic, Jewish power survives despite a high degree of anti-Semitism.

The Jewish fall from power does not always require the demise of a friendly regime. Sometimes a previously hospitable regime will eliminate Jews when they are no longer necessary for the maintenance of power, as was the case in the Soviet Union when Stalin dispensed with Jews. Ginsberg’s fundamental theory is that the Jewish close relationship with the state is a “fatal embrace”: the achievement of great power, and the concomitant high visibility, invite group destruction as situations change.

Ginsberg devotes the greatest part of his book to the history of Jewish power in America. German Jews gained significant power in the United States after the Civil War, largely in the realm of finance. Jews financed the U.S. regime’s Civil War debt, the debts of the reconstructed Southern states, and the nascent industries. In essence, according to our author, Jews were a part of the new business and industrial class of the Gilded Age, and became “identified with the worst excesses of the nineteenth-century industrial order.” (p. 75) Jewish prominence induced an anti-Semitic opposition from Southern and Western agrarians (Populists), and from old-stock New England patricians. Reacting to that anti-Semitic criticism, the Gentile business class jettisoned its ties with the Jews and aligned itself with the patricians. Thus, the 1890s saw the emergence both of exclusive clubs that barred Jews and of anti-Jewish quotas in the Ivy League colleges. Having been thrust out of the business elite, Jews sought to alter the American economic system, Ginsberg writes. They identified with the Progressive reform movement and — on the part of the newly immigrating Eastern European Jews — with radical socialism. The Jewish role in the Progressive movement crested in the Wilson administration, with Louis Brandeis playing a major role in the creation of the Federal Reserve System and the Federal Trade Commission. However, the Jewish rise was transitory, cut short by the anti-radical Red Scare in the aftermath of World War I, which destroyed radical and reform movements as well as (in Ginsberg’s view) an emerging welfare state.

It was with Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal that Jews gained long-term power in the United States, power that continues into the present. Jews served as Roosevelt’s idea men and staffed his New Deal agencies. They played a fundamental part in fashioning the centralized American welfare state — and Ginsberg asserts that they created it to serve their own interests. In contrast to American Protestants’ success in the private sector, Ginsberg writes that Jews “relied upon the state and the public economy to achieve positions of influence and status in American society.” (p. 103) That account contrasts, we should note, with Thomas Sowell’s portrayal of Jewish success via the free market.

Jews also played a significant role in getting the United States into World War II to destroy their Nazi nemesis. And they worked actively to undermine popular noninterventionist resistance to war. For example, the Anti-Defamation League “employed investigative agents who secretly penetrated isolationist and anti-Semitic organizations and collected potentially damaging or incriminating information” which it turned over to the FBI and other federal agencies. (p. 110) Ginsberg does not develop this point, but given the fact that the overwhelming majority of “isolationists” were not enemy agents and were simply exercising their constitutional right to oppose a policy, it is apparent that activist American Jews have been quite willing to crush the civil liberties of others in order to advance their own goals. Jews also played a critical part in turning the media toward a prowar stance. (That was quite an achievement, since the American mood in the 1930s was strongly antiwar and “isolationist.”) In Hollywood, Jewish film makers concentrated on producing anti-Nazi propaganda films to prepare the masses for a crusade against evil.

In the immediate postwar period, right-wing attacks on Communist subversion put Jews on the defensive. Since Jews had been numerous in the American Communist Party, to them the attacks reeked of anti-Semitism. But by joining forces with the also-imperiled WASP elite, Jews were able to destroy the threat by exercising their media power. They did not just succeed in downplaying the idea of Communist subversion; they were even able to change the issue from Communist subversion to the right-wing threat to American civil liberties. That was quite a striking ideological turnaround from the Jews’ total disregard of the civil liberties of pre-World War II “isolationists.” The Jewish success against the right-wing danger meant that by the late 1950s, “conservative anti-Communists who sought to maintain a modicum of respectability … carefully avoided the least hint of anti-Semitism.” (p. 125) Ginsberg cites William F. Buckley Jr. as an example.

In the 1960s, the Jews played key roles in the civil rights revolution and the concomitant Great Society programs. For Jews, Ginsberg points out, support for black civil rights was not only a “moral commitment” but also an “important political tactic” to weaken the white South and the ethnic machine politicians in the North, and, as a consequence, increase their own relative power within the Democratic coalition. Moreover, the advancement of the concept of “equality of opportunity” bolstered Jewish power throughout society. (pp. 125-26) Jews opposed the Vietnam War because it inhibited the expansion of those liberal Great Society programs in which their power resided.

By the end of the Great Society reforms, Jews, in Ginsberg’s view, had become the major force in American politics and government: “From the 1970s onward, Jews led or were influential in most, though not all, of the political reform, feminist, consumer rights, gay rights, environmentalist and other public interest groups and related foundations, study groups, and think tanks that came to dominate the Democratic party during the 1970s and continue to be the leading forces within that party today.” (p. 137) And Jews wield considerable power in the institutions of the American welfare state, holding as they do prominent positions in the “public or quasi-public economy of government agencies, helping professions, private foundations, think tanks, and universities.” (p. 140) Since Jewish power and wealth is either directly or indirectly tied to the national government, rather than to state and local governments or to the strictly private sector, Jews have a vested interest in its maintenance and expansion. In short, Ginsberg contends, Jews support the liberal welfare state for reasons of material self-interest: “Jewish liberalism is more an institutional than an attitudinal phenomenon. It is associated more with Jews’ political linkages and involvements than with their underlying attitudes.” (p. 143)

Ginsberg attributes the rise of black anti-Semitism over the past couple decades to the desire of upwardly mobile blacks to share in the positions of power held by Jews in the welfare-state apparatus. Jews may oppose some black activities, but they cannot become too critical of blacks because it is the idea of helping disadvantaged blacks that provides the “legitimation of the American welfare state.” Indeed, Ginsberg maintains, “Many Jews and Jewish organizations believe that the fundamental interests of Jews are so closely tied, both politically and institutionally, to those of blacks, that it is sometimes necessary to support black demands even when, conceived narrowly or in the short term, these seem to be disadvantageous to Jews.” (p. 165) It is that vested interest in the liberal welfare state that prevented most Jews from turning to Republicanism in the 1980s despite the Republicans’ support for pro-Jewish positions on racial quotas and the defense of Israel.

Although the overwhelming majority of Jews did not turn to Reagan Republicanism in the 1980s, “Jews played important roles in implementing the administration’s economic and foreign policy objectives,” Ginsberg writes. “The association of Jews with Reaganism, especially in the realm of foreign policy, helped to heighten the anti-Semitism of forces on the political Left but produced a measure of philo-Semitism on the right, most notably among Protestant fundamentalists.” (p. 188) Neoconservative Reaganauts identified Israel as America’s “strategic asset” in the Cold War, and Israel actually helped the United States fight communism in Latin America and elsewhere. In the economic realm, Jewish parvenu financiers such as Michael Milken were the major beneficiaries of the Reagan rollback of regulations.

Ginsberg claims that the Republicans, unable to attract any significant number of Jews to their side, abandoned their support of the neocon elite with the end of the Cold War. Israel simply was no longer needed as an ally. Thus President Bush and Secretary of State James Baker tried to coerce Israel into following American Middle East policy and in so doing alienated their neoconservative support. Ginsberg, who completed Fatal Embrace at the beginning of the Clinton administration, emphasizes the large number of Jews who were entering that regime, reinforcing his theme of American Jewry’s continued identification with liberal Democrats.

The author attempts to gauge whether Jewish power — which aroused strong opposition in the past — is threatened today. Despite the explicit anti-Semitism of blacks, Ginsberg doubts that they pose a direct threat to Jews because of their dependence on the welfare state that Jews supervise: blacks and Jews are “locked into a long-term relationship which neither can easily abandon.” (p. 183) Black anti-Semitic rhetoric, however, has loosened the taboo against anti-Semitism in American society, according to Ginsberg, so that white right-wing forces — Joe Sobran, Patrick Buchanan, David Duke, paleoconservatives — can attack Jews and their agenda. Ginsberg believes that those right-wingers, if they should use the correct populist appeal to unite upper- and lower-class whites in what he characterizes as the Nazi manner, could pose a formidable threat to American Jewry: “An alliance of radical populists and respectable conservatives would almost inevitably make vigorous use of anti-Semitic themes to attack the liberal Democratic regime, and the Jews would find themselves locked in the fatal embrace of yet another state.” (p. 243)

Ginsberg is far more explicit on the reality of Jewish power than any other pro-Jewish author of which this reader is aware. However, he leaves some important matters unresolved.

First, it must be asked: What enables Jews to dominate societies? Ginsberg says they have certain talents — scholarly, business, managerial – not possessed by the bulk of the population. However, he does not claim (like Nathaniel Weyl) that Jews are innately more intelligent than other people. It is odd that societies supposedly based on equality (such as America’s current welfare state) would come to reflect greater Jewish dominance. With all the purported equal educational opportunities and aid to the disadvantaged, one would think that social and economic differences among groups would lessen over time. Of course, it could be argued that the real purpose of the liberal welfare state is not to help the disadvantaged but rather to keep them dependent in order to maintain the rationale for the welfare institutions that Jews dominate. Ginsberg does not even hint at this explanation.

Also problematic is the author’s understanding of anti-Semitism. Ginsberg characterizes as anti-Semitic those Gentiles who are critical of Jewish power and its uses. Therefore, anti-Semitism does not necessarily entail racial hatred, threats of racial expulsion or racial extermination, or even lies. A statement can be perfectly truthful and still qualify as anti-Semitic! Despite this apparent meaning, Ginsberg still gives anti-Semitism a negative connotation. Presumably, it is wrong for Gentiles to oppose the Jewish agenda. A reader of Ginsberg’s book should understand from the outset that the work is directed to Jews and Judeophiles, and that the author’s concern is the long-term effect of Jewish power on Jews. He does not dwell on the negative impacts that Jewish power has had on Gentiles, even though he cites examples in which Gentiles have been harmed — such as in the Soviet Union.

Finally, Ginsberg underplays the importance of neoconservatism. (Paul Gottfried, the foremost paleoconservative analyst of neoconservatism, has underscored the significant power of neoconservatism in such works as The Conservative Movement.) Bush and Baker did anger neocons, but neoconservatism still dominates the Republican Party and the American conservative establishment. Neoconservatism simply does not threaten the welfare-state apparatus that provides Jews a base of power. As paleoconservatives correctly point out, neoconservatism simply acts to coopt the conservative thrust of the electorate, rendering it harmless to those whose interests are served by the welfare state. Besides being innocuous to the domestic welfare state, a neocon Republican regime might better serve Jewish foreign policy interests than a liberal Democratic one. It could pursue a Zionist-oriented globalistic foreign policy without the inhibitions of the Democratic Left. And having neocons in strategic positions in the Republican Party means that the Jews have placed their eggs in more than one basket: no matter who controls the government, Democrat or Republican, Jewish power remains intact. Outside of the Jewish orbit there remain only Patrick Buchanan and the paleoconservatives, whom Ginsberg sees as imminent threats to Jewish power and its agenda.

Despite some questionable interpretations, The Fatal Embrace is of immense value for its candid discussion of Jewish power, especially since it is authored by a Jew who identifies closely with Jewish interests. It is must reading for anyone interested in this taboo but critically important subject.

Multiculturalism is Yiddish for ‘Divide and Rule’

Maybe Ron Paul is the least evil amongst all U.S. presidential candidates, but he:

Soros predicts worst recession for 50 years

Amid collapsing stock prices worldwide, the billionaire investor George Soros has told an Austrian daily, the Standard, that the United States is threatened with recession and the world is facing the worst financial crisis in half a century. “The situation is much more serious than any other financial crisis since the end of World War II,” Soros was quoted as saying.

He said over the past few years politics had been guided by some basic misunderstandings stemming from something that he called “market fundamentalism” - the belief that financial markets tended to act as a balance. “This is the wrong idea,” he said. “We really do have a serious financial crisis now.”

He added he was surprised how little it was understood that a US recession was also a threat to Europe. European shares duly fell nearly six per cent on Monday, their biggest one-day slide since 9/11.

Meanwhile in Mumbai, some market analysts are suggesting Soros shorted the Indian markets last week. Over 15 years after he shorted the British pound in September 1992 and earned one billion dollars, local market sources say one of Soros’s funds may have shorted the Nifty last week.

Market Turmoil Continues

Financial markets remained uncertain Wednesday after the U.S. Federal Reserve made its biggest rate cut in 25 years.

The move was meant to bolster jittery markets with many investors fearing the onset of recession.

However, the cut hasn’t entirely restored confidence. Billionaire investor George Soros told reporters that it was going to be difficult for the UK and US to avoid a recession, even after the Fed cut its main interest rate to 3.5% from 4.25%.

The world’s financial markets seemed to confirm Soros’s warning.

New York’s main Dow Jones index dropped 1.1%, with the technology-dominated Nasdaq sliding 2%.

The UK’s FTSE 100 index was 90.90 points, or 1.58%, lower at 5,649.20, erasing much of what is had recovered on Tuesday.

Meanwhile Germany’s Dax lost more than 4%, while France’s Cac 40 was down 2.7%.

Overall the FTSE 100 has lost about 14% of its value since the beginning of 2008, wiping £228bn off the total value of the companies listed on the index.

Germany Dax’s index has been one of the worst hit in Europe, down almost 20% this year.

Despite yesterday’s late rally on Asian and European stock markets, investors were still nervous.

“We consider the Fed’s rate cut still insufficient for the global financial markets to completely recover and help the Japanese stocks to fully rebound”, said Shinichi Ichikawa of Credit Suisse.

Moreover, many investors felt that the Fed’s sudden rate cut was a sign of panic with potentially bigger problems still to come.

“The Fed’s action provided a very positive surprise,” said Tsuyoshi Segawa, strategist at Shinko Securities in Tokyo. “But people are also starting to think that things may be so bad they needed to act.”

While many were still nervous, investors generally agreed that the European Central Bank would not follow the U.S. Federal Reserve’s rate cut, at least not immediately.

A poll taken among European investors after the U.S. Federal Reserve’s rate cut found most thought the European Central Bank will take several months before it follows the Federal Reserve’s lead.

The consensus was that the European Central Bank would cut its rate, but only in the second half of 2008.

On June 4, 1963, a virtually unknown Presidential decree, Executive Order 11110, was signed with the authority to basically strip the Federal Reserve Bank of its power to loan money to the United States Federal Government at interest. With the stroke of a pen, President Kennedy declared that the privately owned Federal Reserve Bank would soon be out of business. The Christian Law Fellowship has exhaustively researched this matter through the Federal Register and Library of Congress. We can now safely conclude that this Executive Order has never been repealed, amended, or superceded by any subsequent Executive Order. In simple terms, it is still valid.

When President John Fitzgerald Kennedy - the author of Profiles in Courage -signed this Order, it returned to the federal government, specifically the Treasury Department, the Constitutional power to create and issue currency -money - without going through the privately owned Federal Reserve Bank. President Kennedy’s Executive Order 11110 [the full text is displayed further below] gave the Treasury Department the explicit authority: “to issue silver certificates against any silver bullion, silver, or standard silver dollars in the Treasury.” This means that for every ounce of silver in the U.S. Treasury’s vault, the government could introduce new money into circulation based on the silver bullion physically held there. As a result, more than $4 billion in United States Notes were brought into circulation in $2 and $5 denominations. $10 and $20 United States Notes were never circulated but were being printed by the Treasury Department when Kennedy was assassinated. It appears obvious that President Kennedy knew the Federal Reserve Notes being used as the purported legal currency were contrary to the Constitution of the United States of America.

“United States Notes” were issued as an interest-free and debt-free currency backed by silver reserves in the U.S. Treasury. We compared a “Federal Reserve Note” issued from the private central bank of the United States (the Federal Reserve Bank a/k/a Federal Reserve System), with a “United States Note” from the U.S. Treasury issued by President Kennedy’s Executive Order. They almost look alike, except one says “Federal Reserve Note” on the top while the other says “United States Note”. Also, the Federal Reserve Note has a green seal and serial number while the United States Note has a red seal and serial number.

President Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963 and the United States Notes he had issued were immediately taken out of circulation. Federal Reserve Notes continued to serve as the legal currency of the nation. According to the United States Secret Service, 99% of all U.S. paper “currency” circulating in 1999 are Federal Reserve Notes.

Kennedy knew that if the silver-backed United States Notes were widely circulated, they would have eliminated the demand for Federal Reserve Notes. This is a very simple matter of economics. The USN was backed by silver and the FRN was not backed by anything of intrinsic value. Executive Order 11110 should have prevented the national debt from reaching its current level (virtually all of the nearly $9 trillion in federal debt has been created since 1963) if LBJ or any subsequent President were to enforce it. It would have almost immediately given the U.S. Government the ability to repay its debt without going to the private Federal Reserve Banks and being charged interest to create new “money”. Executive Order 11110 gave the U.S.A. the ability to, once again, create its own money backed by silver and realm value worth something.

Republican fund raising frontrunner Ron Paul will apparently be excluded from a Fox News Forum scheduled for just two days before the New Hampshire Primary.

Paul’s campaign said “According to the New Hampshire State Republican Party and an Associated Press report, Republican presidential candidate and Texas Congressman Ron Paul will be excluded from an upcoming forum of Republican candidates to be broadcast by Fox News on January 6, 2008.” The decision appears to have been made by Fox News.

“Given Ron Paul’s support in New Hampshire and his recent historic fundraising success, it is outrageous that Dr. Paul would be excluded,” said Ron Paul 2008 campaign chairman Kent Snyder. “Dr. Paul has consistently polled higher in New Hampshire than some of the other candidates who have been invited.”

Ron Paul made history on December 16th when he raised over 6 million dollars in one day. The amount is more than any other political candidate in history has accumulated in one day. In fact, Paul financially speaking is in the best position to win the Republican nomination and is already funded through February 5th when 23 states are up for grabs.

There is a loophole regarding FCC equal time laws for breaking news and debates. Media conglomerates have been giving far less speaking time to Ron Paul during presidential debates and have given scant coverage to his campaign during newscasts. Regardless, Paul has embarrassed alleged frontrunners by raising more money than they have during the fourth quarter, remarkably from 50 and 100 dollar donors. Paul’s campaign has continuously drawn larger crowds than his opponents as well.

The ultimate embarrassment may be to Fox News, especially if Paul wins the New Hampshire primary two days after the forum.

While Paul has consistently registered poorly in media generated polls, his fund raising, and sizable crowds attending his rallies across the country, has made it obvious that he has enormous support.

Paul continues to campaign to end the federal income tax and the Federal Reserve’s inflation tax by returning to ‘Sound Money’ policies. Paul promises to end the Iraq war and bring U.S. troops home immediately. He also promises to repeal the Patriot Act, protect the Bill of Rights, and the U.S. Constitution.

Cold Case Is Heartbreak For The Holloways

The investigation into the disappearance of Natalee Holloway has officially been closed by Aruban prosecutors, leaving the missing U.S. teen’s family disappointed and heartbroken.

Prosecutors dismissed the case against the three main suspects in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, saying they still believe they were involved in her death but can’t prove it after 932 days of searching failed to turn up a body.

“They’ve pushed so hard. They know the answers are there. Someone knows what happened to Natalee and they can’t get the answers,” Holloway family attorney John Q. Kelly told CBS’ The Early Show.

Kelly says that the young men can still be prosecuted if evidence were to surface.

“It was just raising expectations, and it was painful for the parents to go through,” Kelly told The Early Show. “Quite frankly, I think it was a dog and pony show.”

The decision to end the investigation has been a blow to Natalee’s mother, Beth Twitty who has been caught in the wake of the last few weeks’ roller coaster of legal maneuvers.

Twitty, is “terribly disappointed” with Tuesday’s decision, her spokeswoman said.

Some fool gives an affirmative action she-nig candidate a job at a convenience store. Soon her and another nig devise a plan. The plan immediately goes wrong but that’s not out of the ordinary for the nigger schemer. Most nigger plots go wrong. Niggers are so stupid they actually believe they can outsmart the White detectives. But any detective working a nig area with only a few months on the job experience has seen it all - any and all nig schemes and scams. And I won’t give all the credit to “experience,“ most of the busts are due to nothing more than nigger stupidity. A couple bucks go into a Wal-Mart store to do a heist, all caught on tape of course. One kinky-haired buck already arrested, the po po looking for the other one. These fine nig bandits stole five GPS systems valued at about $200 each - total take . . . around a grand. Not bad for a few minutes worth of “work.” Better than spitting on the White man’s cheeseburger at Burger World, well, almost. A lot less effort anyway. The thing I wonder about this heist is; WTF are the nigs going to do with the GPS systems? If the truth be known, they probably thought they were stealing MP3 players - weez sell dees mofos ta da homies fo at leas fiddy dollas ah piece. But of course they won’t get fifty dollars for each stolen unit. They will end up taking them to the local ghetto “tire shop” or “barber shop” and fencing them to the old nigs sitting around with pockets full of cash just for the occasion. Waiting for the young thug and crack addict boosters to come in with their days take. I’d bet the old nigga dudes will end up giving these young thugs $10 a piece for each GPS system. The ones that hurt the most from these nig schemes are the predominate White shoppers of Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart imported these devices from China for probably $50-75 each and that’s what they lost. They have to make up for that in someway. And of course that’s why they have to sell a $50-75 item for $200 - to make-up for the nigger boosters. Prior to the US government turning these baboons loose on us, a good profit margin for any store, was 33-1/3%. Of course there were boosters before the nigger was unchained, but most of those boosters were kids who’d only steal a small personal-use item here and there. Because of the store “dicks” and the two-way mirrors, their “careers” were always cut short. I remember when I was a punk kid, not even a teen, myself and four or five other neighborhood kids came-up with a plan to steal something from a local store, all of us chickened out except one. It was like yea, we’ll steal something, lets all do it at together, but only one kid did. And he was caught. I’ll never forget how he cried like a baby when they grabbed him by the neck and hustled him in the backroom and then threatened to call his dad. They did indeed call his dad and he got whipped pretty bad. Or at least that’s what his sisters told us, he never would admit that his daddy turned his ass into a bowl of cherry Jello. But we knew what went down, daddy turned that boy into a honest citizen again. Plus he was grounded for about a month.

But those small thefts by such a small group, didn’t hurt the store. Sure they looked at the bottom line at the end of each month and saw where 2-3% of their merchandise “walked“ out of the store and that wasn‘t good but, the profit margin was designed, as well as adequate for those small losses. A few kids stealing small personal-use items one or two times isn’t nothing compared to the large number of nigger beasts attempting to make livings off their thefts. That’s the difference between a store back then being profitable on a margin of 33-1/3% and a store having to make 100-200-300% (or more) now. It’s simple, niggernomics.

Is there anyway at all we can be relieved of this vile beast once and for all? Even the old ones with the pockets full of jewish fiat currency backed by nothing, not gold, not silver, not nothing. Repatriate them back to this motherland they speak so highly of. That’s the only solution to an ever growing problem. Oh, and it would help to stop importing spics from the third world and those jew bastards, those greedy jew bastards, the ones that control our money and who want us to fight all their enemies - remove them all - and watch this country become safer and safer and more prosperous with each passing day. ***The chart below denotes what I mentioned above. After the nigger was turned loose upon White society in the mid 1960’s, the murder rates rose rapidly. The death and destruction caused by these niggers didn’t take years or even many months, the results, like the murder stats illustrated below, were immediate. [Remember, when you delve deeper into the stats, specifically at the “white” category, there is no “Hispanic” or even “Mexican” category. It’s common knowledge, he reveals, CIA, Mossad behind terror attacks

Former Italian President Francesco Cossiga, who revealed the existence of Operation Gladio, has told Italy’s oldest and most widely read newspaper that the 9-11 terrorist attacks were run by the CIA and Mossad, and that this was common knowledge among global intelligence agencies.

In what translates awkwardly into English, Cossiga told the newspaper Corriere della Sera:

“All the [intelligence services] of America and Europe…know well that the disastrous attack has been planned and realized from the Mossad, with the aid of the Zionist world in order to put under accusation the Arabic countries and in order to induce the western powers to take part … in Iraq [and] Afghanistan.”

Cossiga was elected president of the Italian Senate in July 1983 before winning a landslide election to become president of the country in 1985, and he remained until 1992.

Cossiga’s tendency to be outspoken upset the Italian political establishment, and he was forced to resign after revealing the existence of, and his part in setting up, Operation Gladio. This was a rogue intelligence network under NATO auspices that carried out bombings across Europe in the 1960s, 1970s and ’80s. Gladio’s specialty was to carry out what they termed “false flag” operations—terror attacks that were blamed on their domestic and geopolitical opposition.

In March 2001, Gladio agent Vincenzo Vinciguerra stated, in sworn testimony, “You had to attack civilians, the people, women, children, innocent people, unknown people far removed from any political game. The reason was quite simple: to force … the public to turn to the state to ask for greater security.”

Cossiga first expressed his doubts about 9-11 in 2001, and is quoted by 9-11 researcherWebster Tarpley saying “The mastermind of the attack must have been a sophisticated mind, provided with ample means not only to recruit fanatic kamikazes, but also highly specialized personnel. “I add one thing: it could not be accomplished without infiltrations in the radar and flight security personnel.”

Coming from a widely respected former head of state, Cossiga’s assertion that the 9-11 attacks were an inside job and that this is common knowledge among global intelligence agencies is illuminating. It is one more eye-opening confirmation that has not been mentioned by America’s propaganda machine in print or on TV. Nevertheless, because of his experience and status in the world, Cossiga cannot be discounted as a crackpot.

Investigative reporter Daniel Estulin has gone further with his bombshell revelation first voiced last week that political insiders are considering a plot to assassinate Ron Paul, today identifying the Neo-Con camp as being behind the potential hit.

Appearing on The Alex Jones Show, Estulin said that his sources for the information were real patriots who love America and are desperate to see the truth get out, but that he always took the precaution of getting verification from more than one individual on each piece of information he releases.

“What I said about Ron Paul last week came from two different people who don’t know each other,” said Estulin, adding that his source had in turn got the information from sources within the Neo-Con camp and that it was individuals from within the Neo-Con camp that are considering what would happen if Ron Paul was assassinated.

Estulin stressed that to elaborate any further he would need to seek permission from those giving him the information to retain their confidence and trust.

“I am getting information from my sources that there are people involved from a higher level of the American establishment who are seriously considering - this has not been confirmed - but assassination is definitely on the agenda and I pray to God that this is not the case,” Estulin first told Jones last week.

As we reported following the initial release of the information, Estulin described the concept as a “trial balloon from the inner core within the inner core - it hasn’t gone beyond that but it is obviously on the table because I think needless to say they are very much concerned,” he added.

Ron Paul himself has stated on a previous occasion that he is aware of the dangers of being such a bold icon for freedom and understands that political assassinations have occurred in the past.

In a June appearance on The Alex Jones Show, Congressman Paul acknowledged that such a threat is “real,” agreeing with a number of historical examples where leaders were killed or attacked for successfully standing up to the system. “That’s right. They’ll do it,” Paul said, making reference with Alex Jones to upstarts like Andrew Jackson, “The Kingfish” Huey Long, Bobby Kennedy, George Washington and even George Wallace.

Another secret service source told Estulin that the message scrolled across the bottom of the screen during Ron Paul’s CNN interview on Tuesday, “Paul is dead, Paul is dead, Paul is dead,” was potentially more than just a matter of quoting a joke made by Mike Huckabee about attacks on his campaign ads, but in fact could be taken as a threat or even a cue to Paul’s would-be assassin.

Estulin noted that a similar thing occurred before the assassination of Robert Kennedy in 1968, but was quick to caution that he could not confirm the authenticity of the judgment that this was related to the consideration of a plot to kill the Congressman.

FLASHBACK: Estulin: Elitists Consider Assassinating Ron Paul

After an IED attack killed five members of 2nd Platoon Charlie 1-26 in northeast Baghdad, members of the unit gathered and determined that they could no longer function professionally. Several soldiers feared that their anger and want for revenge would result in a massacre of innocent civilians, and thus decided to stage a revolt against the orders of their commanders.

Charlie 1-26 was the hardest hit unit in Iraq so far, losing 14 soldiers in 12 months. Kelly Kennedy of the Army Times, who was embedded with Charlie Company, recalled the hostility the unit had towards Iraqis living under US occupation:

When the IED, the roadside bomb, went off, it was so close to one of the Iraqi police stations that they should have been able to see somebody burying that. It was right in front of somebody’s house, and nobody said anything. Nobody said to these guys, “Listen, there’s a bomb here. We’re worried about you,” even though they had been going out and patrolling and doing what they were supposed to be doing, in their minds. So when that IED went off and killed their five friends, they’re in–you have to understand, they’ve been living together for a year like brothers in the basement of this old palace. And it’s–they’re right on top of each other and going out and taking care of each other on the battlefield, daily firefights. And so, they’re closer probably than anyone could be. And when they lost their five men, they–I think they gave up on the Iraqi people.

If the Iraqi people weren’t willing to fight for them, then what was the point? And they were so angry. They just wanted to go out and take out the whole city. They didn’t understand why they couldn’t finish up what they call the war, and the whole idea of counterinsurgency is that you’re supposed to be building relationships, but they’re trying to build relationships with people who obviously aren’t that concerned about them. So this idea of a massacre was just–they were just so angry, they could barely contain it anymore.

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran has hanged three men and a woman, a newspaper reported on Thursday, in the latest of a series of executions that have drawn criticism from rights groups and European states.

Two of the men and the woman had been convicted of murder, while the third man was executed for rape.

Murder, rape, adultery, and drug trafficking are among crimes punishable by death under Iran’s Islamic sharia law, imposed since the 1979 revolution.

“The four convicted people, including a woman, were hanged on Wednesday morning inside the Evin prison in Tehran,” said the state-run newspaper, Iran.

It said that Ghasem Yaghoubi had kidnapped and raped 19 young boys in a year.

Amnesty International has protested to Iran over the number of executions, which according to its report in April had doubled to at least 177 people in 2006.

The number of executions, many in public, has risen since July with the launch of a summer crackdown on “immoral behaviour”. During the campaign, police have arrested dozens of drug addicts, smugglers, rapists and murderers.

The crackdown has also included an initiative to confront women who fail to adhere to Iran’s strict Islamic dress codes.

Before the latest series of hangings that began in July, Amnesty said at least 124 people had been put to death in 2007. Based on those figures, Iran has now executed more than 150 people so far this year. Continued…

Ex-CIA official: Israel will attack Iran on its own

“I came back from a trip to Israel in November convinced that Israel would attack Iran,” Bruce Riedel, a former CIA official and senior adviser to three US presidents, George W. Bush among them, told the American Newsweek magazine in an article published Friday.

Citing conversations he had in Israel with officials in Mossad and the Israeli defense establishment, Riedel concluded that “Israel is not going to allow its nuclear monopoly to be threatened.”

While some US experts doubt Israel’s ability to tackle Iran alone, David Albright, of the Institute for Science and International Security in Washington, was quoted by Newsweek as saying that although information on the exact location of Iran’s nuclear facility is incomplete, Israel’s air strike on an alleged Syrian nuclear facility on September 6, widely discussed in foreign media outlets, could be seen as a test run for any future strike on Iran’s facilities, as well as a direct warning to Teheran.

Riedel told the magazine his impression that Israel would venture a strike on Iran on its own was formed before the publication of the joint US intelligence agencies’ report, the National Intelligence Estimate (NIE). “This [the NIE] makes it [a strike on Iran] even more likely,” he said.

Since the publication of the NIE, which reversed a previous American assessment by concluding that Iran halted its nuclear weapons program in 2003, leaders worldwide have been adjusting their publicly stated positions on the Iranian nuclear issue.

Even inside the US, President Bush attempted some damage control by stating a day after the report’s publication that “Iran was dangerous, Iran is dangerous and Iran will be dangerous.”

In Israel, responses to the report ranged from subtle criticism of the report’s conclusions to outright slamming of the US intelligence community’s capabilities, so much so that on last Sunday’s cabinet meeting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert instructed his ministers to refrain from commenting any further on the report.

Here’s a particularly forlorn historical date: Almost 90 years ago, between the 19th and 20th of December 1917, in the midst of the Bolshevik revolution and civil war, Lenin signed a decree calling for the establishment of The All-Russian Extraordinary Commission for Combating Counter-Revolution and Sabotage, also known as Cheka.

Within a short period of time, Cheka became the largest and cruelest state security organization. Its organizational structure was changed every few years, as were its names: From Cheka to GPU, later to NKVD, and later to KGB.

We cannot know with certainty the number of deaths Cheka was responsible for in its various manifestations, but the number is surely at least 20 million, including victims of the forced collectivization, the hunger, large purges, expulsions, banishments, executions, and mass death at Gulags.

Whole population strata were eliminated: Independent farmers, ethnic minorities, members of the bourgeoisie, senior officers, intellectuals, artists, labor movement activists, “opposition members” who were defined completely randomly, and countless members of the Communist party itself.

In his new, highly praised book “The War of the World, “Historian Niall Ferguson writes that no revolution in the history of mankind devoured its children with the same unrestrained appetite as did the Soviet revolution. In his book on the Stalinist purges, Tel Aviv University’s Dr. Igal Halfin writes that Stalinist violence was unique in that it was directed internally.

Lenin, Stalin, and their successors could not have carried out their deeds without wide-scale cooperation of disciplined “terror officials,” cruel interrogators, snitches, executioners, guards, judges, perverts, and many bleeding hearts who were members of the progressive Western Left and were deceived by the Soviet regime of horror and even provided it with a kosher certificate.

The Culture of Critique: An Evolutionary Analysis of Jewish Involvement in Twentieth-Century Intellectual and Political Movements

The Culture of Critique (hereafter, CofC) was originally published in 1998 by Praeger Publishers, an imprint of Greenwood Publishing Group, Inc. The thesis of the book is a difficult one indeed, not only because it is difficult to establish, but also because it challenges many fundamental assumptions about our contemporary intellectual and political existence.

CofC describes how Jewish intellectuals initiated and advanced a number of important intellectual and political movements during the 20th century. I argue that these movements are attempts to alter Western societies in a manner that would neutralize or end anti-Semitism and enhance the prospects for Jewish group continuity either in an overt or in a semi-cryptic manner. Several of these Jewish movements (e.g., the shift in immigration policy favoring non-European peoples) have attempted to weaken the power of their perceived competitors — the European peoples who early in the 20th century had assumed a dominant position not only in their traditional homelands in Europe, but also in the United States, Canada, and Australia. At a theoretical level, these movements are viewed as the outcome of conflicts of interest between Jews and non-Jews in the construction of culture and in various public policy issues. Ultimately, these movements are viewed as the expression of a group evolutionary strategy by Jews in their competition for social, political and cultural dominance with non-Jews.

Here I attempt to answer some typical criticisms that have been leveled against CofC. (See also my website: www.csulb.edu/~kmacd). I also discuss issues raised by several books that have appeared since the publication of CofC.

There have been complaints that I am viewing Judaism in a monolithic manner. This is definitely not the case. Rather, in each movement that I discuss, my methodology has been:

(1.) Find influential movements dominated by Jews, with no implication that all or most Jews are involved in these movements and no restrictions on what the movements are. For example, I touch on Jewish neo-conservatism which is a departure in some ways from the other movements I discuss. In general, relatively few Jews were involved in most of these movements and significant numbers of Jews may have been unaware of their existence. Even Jewish leftist radicalism — surely the most widespread and influential Jewish subculture of the 20th century — may have been a minority movement within Jewish communities in the United States and other Western societies for most periods. As a result, when I criticize these movements I am not necessarily criticizing most Jews. Nevertheless, these movements were influential and they were Jewishly motivated.(2.) Determine whether the Jewish participants in those movements identified as Jews AND thought of their involvement in the movement as advancing specific Jewish interests. Involvement may be unconscious or involve self-deception, but for the most part it was quite easy and straightforward to find evidence for these propositions. If I thought that self-deception was important (as in the case of many Jewish radicals), I provided evidence that in fact they did identify as Jews and were deeply concerned about Jewish issues despite surface appearances to the contrary. (See also Ch. 1 of CofC.)

(3.) Try to gauge the influence of these movements on non-Jewish society. Keep in mind that the influence of an intellectual or political movement dominated by Jews is independent of the percentage of the Jewish community that is involved in the movement or supports the movement.

(4.) Try to show how non-Jews responded to these movements — for example, were they a source of anti-Semitism?

Several of the movements I discuss have been very influential in the social sciences. However, I do not argue that there are no Jews who do good social science, and in fact I provide a list of prominent Jewish social scientists who in my opinion do not meet the conditions outlined under (2) above (see Ch. 2 of CofC). If there was evidence that these social scientists identified as Jews and had a Jewish agenda in doing social science (definitely not in the case of most of those listed, but possibly true in the case of Richard Herrnstein — see below), then they would have been candidates for inclusion in the book. The people I cite as contributing to evolutionary/biological perspectives are indeed ethnically Jewish, but for most of them I have no idea whether they either identity as Jews or if they have a Jewish agenda in pursuing their research simply because there is no evidence to be found in their work or elsewhere. If there is evidence that a prominent evolutionary biologist identifies as a Jew and views his work in sociobiology or evolutionary psychology as advancing Jewish agendas, then he or she should have been in CofC as an example of the phenomenon under study rather than as simply a scientist working in the area of evolutionary studies.

Interestingly, in the case of one of those I mention, Richard J. Herrnstein, Alan Ryan (1994, 11) writes, ‘Herrnstein essentially wants the world in which clever Jewish kids or their equivalent make their way out of their humble backgrounds and end up running Goldman Sachs or the Harvard physics department.’ This is a stance that is typical, I suppose, of neo-conservatism, a Jewish movement I discuss in several places, and it is the sort of thing that, if true, would suggest that Herrnstein did perceive the issues discussed in The Bell Curve as affecting Jewish interests in a way that Charles Murray, his co-author, did not. (Ryan contrasts Murray’s and Herrnstein’s world views: ‘Murray wants the Midwest in which he grew up — a world in which the local mechanic didn’t care two cents whether he was or wasn’t brighter than the local math teacher.’) Similarly, 20th-century theoretical physics does not qualify as a Jewish intellectual movement precisely because it was good science and there are no signs of ethnic involvement in its creation: Jewish identification and pursuit of Jewish interests were not important to the content of the theories or to the conduct of the intellectual movement. Yet Jews have been heavily overrepresented among the ranks of theoretical physicists.

This conclusion remains true even though Einstein, the leading figure among Jewish physicists, was a strongly motivated Zionist (Fölsing 1997, 494-505), opposed assimilation as a contemptible form of ‘mimicry’ (p. 490), preferred to mix with other Jews whom he referred to as his ‘tribal companions’ (p. 489), embraced the uncritical support for the Bolshevik regime in Russia typical of so many Jews during the 1920s and 1930s, including persistent apology for the Moscow show trials in the 1930s (pp. 644-5), and switched from a high-minded pacifism during World War I, when Jewish interests were not at stake, to advocating the building of atomic bombs to defeat Hitler. From his teenage years he disliked the Germans and in later life criticized Jewish colleagues for converting to Christianity and acting like Prussians. He especially disliked Prussians, who were the elite ethnic group in Germany. Reviewing his life at age 73, Einstein declared his ethnic affiliation in no uncertain terms: ‘My relationship with Jewry had become my strongest human tie once I achieved complete clarity about our precarious position among the nations’ (in Fölsing 1997, 488). According to Fölsing, Einstein had begun developing this clarity from an early age, but did not acknowledge it until much later, a form of self-deception: ‘As a young man with bourgeois-liberal views and a belief in enlightenment, he had refused to acknowledge [his Jewish identity]‘ (in Fölsing 1997, 488).

THE DEATH OF AMERICA was enacted in 1965 with the signing of the Open Immigration Law Of 1965.

While serving Jewish interests, the Open Immigration Law Of 1965 was the beginning of America’s death as a unified nation. Jews were behind the law, promoting, lobbying, and “bribing” the law into existence with the fanaticism equalling the most dedicated Muslim terrorist.

Jews have continually evinced hostility toward American Christian culture in their aggressive efforts to change it. The Open Immigration Law Of 1965 is a prime example of that hostility.

Jews are a paranoid people. Wherever the Jews go they fear Anti-Semitism. (Jews have a guilt complex - and for good reason.) Jews fear a homogenous Christian culture of which they would never ascend to influential positions. Rather, in a homogenous Christian culture, Jews are looked upon, (and rightly so), as “Christ-killers.” This is why the Jews tried to get Mel Gibson’s movie, The Passion of Jesus Christ, removed from the silver screen.

A typical example of what characterizes the Jewish push for open immigration can be seen in the following 1948 quote by David Petegorsky, former Director of the AJCongress:

Don’t confuse Ron Paul with the socialist George Bush and his plans for the SPP.

There is no freeway from McAllen to Corpus Christy. You have to travel almost 300 miles north from the border before you travel a freeway. Interstate 83 runs east and west. It is 8 lane in most places.

The highways need an upgrade from the taxpayer not foreign corporations. The nice thing about traveling Texas 2 lane highways is that people pull over onto the shoulder of the road and let people pass. No other state is like this.

The North Shore of Lake Superior is more or less a dead end. There isn’t much of anything in Canada above it. The biggest road north from Duluth is Hwy 61 along the coast of the Lake. It’s a narrow, winding two-laner. Nobody would pick it for heavy traffic if there was an alternative.

The core of Canada is the interlake region of Ontario. That’s where most of the people and industry are. Few people will ship anything from Toronto to Guadalajara by going through Duluth.

So is that the reason for the demolition of the I-35W bridge in Minnesota? It must not have been big enough for transport.

Greek historian convicted over book denying the Holocaust

A far-right Greek historian was sentenced to 14 months in prison Thursday for inciting racial hatred with a book that denies the Holocaust took place, court officials said.

Historian Costas Plevris appealed his sentence and was not taken into custody.

A three-member panel of judges voted 2-1 to find Plevris guilty of inciting violence and racial hatred. The court cleared three other defendants of similar charges: the publisher, the editor and a journalist at a small right-wing magazine that published extracts from the book.

Greek Jewish community leaders had testified that Plevris’ book The Jews: The whole truth has led to an increase in attacks on Jewish monuments in the country.

Plevris protested to the court that his right to free speech had been violated.

It was the first trial in Greece on the recently introduced incitement charges.

An estimated 60,000 Greek Jews, most of the country’s prewar Jewish population, were killed by the Nazis during World War II.

APPLETON, Wis. — Darshana Patel told authorities she was suspicious as she watched her boyfriend stir a smoothie at an ice cream store. When he offered it to her, she noticed powder on the cup’s rim, and the pregnant woman feigned illness and didn’t drink it.

According to a criminal complaint, the woman says she sent the powder to a laboratory and it turned out to be mifepristone, the abortion pill also known as RU-486.

The test results came too late: She had already suffered two miscarriages in less than a year.

On Thursday, Manishkumar M. Patel, 34, of Appleton, was accused of slipping the drug to the woman without her knowledge. He was charged with seven felonies and two misdemeanors, including attempted first-degree intentional homicide of an unborn child, stalking, burglary and two counts of violating a restraining order. The nine charges carry a maximum penalty of 99 1/2 years in prison and a $92,000 fine.

Wisconsin is one of 37 states with a “fetal homicide” law, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. Under the 1998 law, anyone who attacks a pregnant woman and injures or kills her fetus could face life in prison.

“These allegations are devious, diabolical and disturbing,” Outagamie County Court Commissioner Brian Figy told Manishkumar Patel at a hearing.

Defense lawyer Thomas Zoesch said he had not had a chance to discuss the case in detail with his client but expects he will plead not guilty. No one answered the door at Darshana Patel’s Kaukauna home Thursday evening.

Darshana Patel and Manishkumar Patel are not related, and Manishkumar Patel is married to someone else; Patel is a common Indian last name.

The criminal complaint paints a picture of a long-running affair that produced a child, now age 3, but which soured.

The two had known each other since Manishkumar Patel, who holds a legal green card, emigrated to the U.S. from India in 1998, the complaint said. The two began a relationship in 2001 and had a son in 2004.

Darshana Patel said she became pregnant with Manish’s child in September 2006 — a child he denied was his — but she miscarried two months later.

She became pregnant with his child again in August 2007, the complaint said, and this time she noticed how attentive Manish became. He even prepared meals for her on occasion.

Then she noticed the powder on the smoothie cup at the store. A short time later, her doctor detected problems in her hormone levels, and she contacted the lab to test the substance in the cup. While waiting for a kit to test the substance, she miscarried. The lab test later confirmed the presence of the abortion pill, the complaint said.

She obtained a restraining order Nov. 13, authorities said.

The complaint said a search of Manishkumar Patel’s residence Wednesday found an envelope containing pills labeled as mifepristone, or RU-486. Investigators said they asked him if he knew what kind of pills they were, and he responded, “abortion pills.”

He told deputies he got the pills from India, according to the complaint. Access to RU-486 is strictly regulated in the U.S., and it is only administered to women in a doctor’s office.

Investigators asked him whether he used the pills to cause the miscarriages and he declined to answer. In a follow-up interview, he admitted giving Darshana “one pill” but did not say when or where, the complaint said.

Patel was ordered held on $750,000 bail after Assistant District Attorney Mark Schroeder said Patel had a net worth of $400,000 and was a flight risk. Patel runs service stations and other businesses.

Investigators had found an airline ticket in Patel’s home for a flight scheduled to leave for Germany on Nov. 28, the day after he was arrested, Schroeder said.

On Monday, US banking giant Citigroup announced a deal with Abu Dhabi to secure a $7.5 billion cash infusion. The arrangement is intended to shore up the bank’s financing amidst an ongoing credit crisis, but the desperate character of the deal is an indication of the deep crisis facing American capitalism.

Citigroup—the largest US bank and the largest corporation in the world measured by assets—has been particularly hard hit by the deflation of the US housing market, which has called into question the value of hundreds of billions of dollars in mortgages and securities.

Certain basic measurements of the bank’s financial health have fallen sharply in recent months—in particular its capital ratio, representing the amount of assets the bank has relative to its liabilities. To provide a temporary bandage for this problem, the bank arranged the deal with the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), a state institution of Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.

The structure of the deal is unfavorable for Citigroup. The $7.5 billion will be exchanged for equity units convertible into shares in the company within the next four years. Until the conversion time, Citigroup has agreed to pay out an interest rate of 11 percent annually—which exceeds the average rate for junk bonds in the United States. At the end of the period, ADIA will be the largest single shareholder of Citigroup, with up to 4.9 percent ownership.

In effect, the arrangement amounts to a $7.5 billion loan at an interest rate of 11 percent. The principle will be converted into Citigroup stock at a price only slightly above its recent record-low. If the stock price rises, ADIA can make money on the difference between its purchase price and the market price.

ADIA’s share of Citigroup will exceed that of the current largest shareholder, Prince Al Waleed bin Talal of Saudi Arabia, who purchased 3.6 percent of the company at the time of its last major financial crisis, in 1991.
